Using a Lee bullet sizer on a progressive press.

Hello to all. I'm new to the forum, and will try not to violate any protocols. If I do, please let me know. My son got a 40 S&W recently, so I'm introducing him to reloading. I found a mold on eBay for the 175gr TC .401 diameter. I wasn't able to find a sizing die for my RCBS sizer anywhere, but did find the Lee sizing kit. It did not "click" when I read the description that it will work with any "standard" shell holder. Needless to say, when I tried to set it up, the ram that pushes the bullet through the die would not fit in the shell plate of my Ammo-Master Progressive press. I was stuck, toyed with the idea of taking the ram to the grinder and Dremel tool to try and make it fit but gave up that idea and thought I'd have to buy a single stage press just to size with when it hit me. I took a fired 40 cal. case and filled it half full of epoxy putty, then pushed a fired .223 case neck down into the case. I then worked putty into the gap between the two cases and let it set. I can now disconnect the indexing rod on the Ammo-Master and size away.Click image for larger version.

Check with Lathesmith, a vendor on this site. He can probably make you a sizing die.

    Welcome to the forum.

Thank you. I've found the site to be a library of useful info. I've already got the stuff together to try Recluse's tumble lube recipe.

There is a 3D printable holder for the Lee Loadmaster on thingiverse.

Ram goes into s plastic bracket that screws under the shell plate holder nut.
