    45-100 remington necked

In my search for a interesting cartridge for a rolling block project I have come across the 45-100 remington necked. Apparently not a flagship round but it did seem to exist. Do any of you have any experience or insight on such a thing? Not a lot of info to be had in my oldcartridges of the world. Also of interest is the 44-90 remington special. Info on either is appreciated.

The 45-100 can be made from .450 NE brass. Brass Extrusion Laboratories Ltd (BELL) used to make brass for it, but not sure if any could be had.
So, it might be one of those cartridges to stay away from.

However, the 44-90 Rem Special (aka 44-90 Remington Necked) can be made from 45 2.6" brass, which Star Line manufactures and is readily available.
That cartridge would be more appealing since brass can be acquired.

Didn't Hornady have a run of 450 NE brass/ammo at one time? If so, probably hard to find and $$$. I would lean towards the 44-90 just because of brass availibility.
