Just picked up a Uberti Cattleman

Just picked up a Uberti Cattleman in 44 mag with "target" sights.

Will be getting mold(s), dies etc soon enough.

Plan to keep loads pretty moderate, will mostly be a range gun.

Any tips or suggestions welcome, thanks.

You guys have all the coolest pistols!

I'd love to hear a range report when you get to that point.

Finally got to the range. I am by no means a pistol shooter but a 180gt XTP over 7.5gr of TB was a pleasant 850fps and certainly more accurate than I am, will be a nice range load.

Larry Gibson had pressure tested data comparing same loads in .44-40 vs .44 Magnum. The same loads which work in .44-40 make pleasant medium power loads in the .44 Magnum, Try 7 Grains Bullseye, 8 grains Unique, 9 grains Herco with 230-240 grain bullet, nice, pleasant to shoot, powerful enough, accurate. 16 grains of Alliant #2400 or 18 grains H- or IMR4227 also very good.
