This would have to be for someone interested near the Cleveland Ohio area.
Shipping would have to be freight probably several hundred dollars plus crated up.
I really don’t have the time for that a lot of extra work.
BASIC SPECS AND INFORMATION:
4” cylinder with 4” stroke, 2”-ram
cylinder ram crossed drilled for 3/8” rod and center drilled for Lyman J-X adapter
½-hp motor which can generate 700/psi=8196/lbs force more than needed for swaging
manual direction valve has built in pressure relief for pressure adjustment.
Vickers vane pump, as with most pumps need oil gravity fed, tank mounted over motor. Currently using a basic holding tank for oil which could be changed but it works. Using ATF hydraulic fluid, tank probably holds around 2-3 gallons.
BT-dies use similar short punches which should be the same. Dies are usually adjusted up or down to accomplish the end result with a set pressure. If I were to use this as my primary press, i would like to also have a positive stop and really haven’t looked in how to do it. Using Corbin H-dies everything is set to a positive stop adjusting the punch depth and pressure setting. This information is all recorded to readily setup when changing calibers. With hydraulics every cycle is repeatable and most of all consistent.
Auto eject setup can be added by drilling guide holes thru top plate and make up components needed to make the adjustable eject system.
Another option 3-1/2” side plates and a new top plate can be made up if additional clearance is needed. This could be a possibility if wanting to make core wire using Corbin’s H-die set up which i use. The drive motor would probably have to be upgraded to at least 2/hp, a 2500/psi pressure gauge. I require 14000/psi minimum to get the lead to start flowing. A ram adapter would also need to be machined but this is for someone who knows what their doing. Just listing some possibilities of what is possible. Since i built a fully automated four post press seven years ago it’s time for this one to go for someone who wants to start using hydraulics. Once you use hydraulics you will never want to use a manual press again especially one that was made for loading not swaging, there is a big difference.
If any questions please send PM or I will answer them on the post.
