Lee is a total class act.

I'd never heard that song, as it was brand new way back when. I went to a concert that had the Oak Ridge Boys & Le e Greenwood as the main headliners.
When Lee was out there,, he stopped, and politely asked that any & all Veterans to please stand. Very few folks stood, compared to the crowd size. I felt a little odd. Lee proceeded to tell the crowd that ALL of us owed our Freedom to folks like us. Then, he said he had a new song, and dedicated it to us Vets. That was the first time I heard; "God Bless the USA!" Live & dedicated to us.
My date was duly humbled & impressed.

Many, many years later,, I was able to meet Lee, & I THANKED him for that day & the song.

Side note; Lee is also a strong supporter of the Second Amendment.

One of the most endearing sights in the world is the vision of a naked good-looking woman leaving the bedroom to make breakfast. Bolivar Shagnasty (I believe that Lazarus Long also said it, but I can't find any record of it.)

Always brings a tear to my eye when I hear it,
    Just like our National Anthem.
