    Is it hot enough yet

had our hottest day so far this year, 93--yeah, I know its nothing compared to 100+ degrees out west. I guess the humidity has a lot to do with how hot it really feels outside.,
after getting chores done I spent most the day holding the chair down in room with AC in it.

A couple weeks ago, after the rain stopped, I tried to go out to take care of the bees, and I just about fell out from heat exhaustion. It was 106 that day, and 100% humidity, and I was in a full bee suit. Not a good idea. I've switched to doing it early mornings, so now it's just miserably hot, instead of dangerous.

That's crazy for Idaho, isn't it? I expect those temps here in Texas, we're used to it.

Yep. Records are being broken. This is exceptionally hot weather for here.

This would be the equivalent of it being -10 in Dallas in November.

Yes, hot and humid in Maine today. I don't know how hot it got I just stayed indoors in the A/C. Not as hot and humid as I've ever seen it though. I've seen it 100° with 100% humidity. Seriously. Go out do some work for 10-15 minutes then head inside to cool off. There was no cooling off outdoors unless one cooled off with a hose. One of our dogs died in that.

After having had a heatstroke, 80 is too hot., Glad I finally got AC in my shed even if it's only 8000 BTU. Sitting in 72* typing this now. And thankful of it.

It's been up to 115 here, but cooler now in the 90's. I'm going shooting in the morning. supposed to be 68 at 08:00 and won't get to 90 until 13:00 so I plan on doing my 50 rounds before Noon. Fortunatly the club where I shoot has overhead shade and good air flow.

We hit 115 on Sunday and 114 today. Supposed to "cool off" to 92 tomorrow. Highest temperatures here in the last 100 years. When I lived in Phoenix 115 was commonplace during the summer. It's not supposed to get that hot here.
    What could possibly go wrong?

Just don't charge your electric vehicle during the mandatory usage reduction times in California. Saw where they had to backtrack a bit and are saying to charge them before the hours stated as the grid cannot handle it. Not making any comments as this is not the Pit. Keep cool folks. Those wet wraps around your neck and wearing a vented hat make a difference. Be careful.

My cooling device -- an old cotton shirt with sleeves cut off. Soak it down, wring it out, put it on. When it dries, repeat.

Im in Eastern Oregon, and we're having records broken. I finally decided to take my old beater Cherokee to the shop to see if they could fix the AC. Prolly spend a grand to fix a rig that's worth -- a grand. jd
It seems that people who do almost nothing, often complain loudly when it's time to do it.

Was 104 yesterday and is forecast to be 109 just south of Spokane WA today and 107 tomorrow, then we cool down to "just" 101 and 100...never thought I'd be happy to see upper 90s.

Recall the "Great American Desert" during the 'Oregon Trail' days. There is a desert out there folks and AC gave the developers a new profit source and politicians a new tax base.
