    New name

    Heres what I did.
I took a 9mm boolit and changed it to a
    38 / 357 boolit.
It was a Lyman #356402 - 120 gr. double cav mold.
Now it is lapped to a 358 dia. and a 125 gr. mold.
I would like to give it a new name as well.
Can anyone come up with one?
    Thanks JRAWHITETAIL.

It seems like all the really cool names are taken: Wasp, Hornet, Magnum, etc..

Maybe you could double up on one and call it the .38 Stinger, or .38WHITETAIL has a nice ring to it.

Well, the precedent has already been established when Lyman took the 358242 and made it the 356242. They also took the 311299 and made it into the 314299. Keeping it simple it would just be the 358402 and make life easier on everyone.

How did you open up your 356402 to 358?

4570, I followed the advice of other members
and screw in a screw to the base of the boolit.
then added lapping compound to it.
Put it in a drill press and lapped it out.
Then you clean the mold and make a few boolits.
Then repeat the prosses till you get the size you
    were looking for.
It also makes the boolits fall out better.

    The 125 Goober?
It seems that people who do almost nothing, often complain loudly when it's time to do it.

I would call it a 9mm/380 boolit. All mine are sized .358

I second 358 Parabellum. It's still a 120 gr TC, just .002" bigger in diameter, If you need to differentiate between the .358" bullet and a stock diameter, call it a 385" 120 gr. TC. Whitetail...

11/24/15 I received a NOE 358 - 124 - T C (Truncated Cone ) 4 cavity mould , that has been in their catalog for years ... sounds just like what you cobbled up . Not really new but it is a very useful boolit .
I had mine cut for a gas check . Sized .357 and used in 9mm Luger and 9mm Super . Size them .358 and use in 38 Special / 38 Special +P and 357 Magnum . The gas check aids in boolit seating and it can be driven 1000 fps+ with no leading even with a softish 8 bhn alloy .

    I would call it the 9mm/38/357 Super-Versatile .

One of or members has had good success with this boolit in 38 /357 lever action rifles , in both feeding and accuracy .

Well I just made up 3 boxes of 38-125 Zippers.
They are for shooting steel plate and swingers
    for fun.
Now I am getting ready to load some NOE 160 SWC .
They are on the bench right now with a coat of JPW.

GONRA suggests: ".358 TRUMP" ".358 ZAPPER" ".358 SMASHER" ".358 CRUSHER" etc.
