Does anyone have a relative burning rate for WW 452AA powder? I bought it years ago when I was into loading shotshells and would like to use it up in my handguns. I load for about everything from 9mm to .454 Casull.

Some of the load books have it listed still. I have a pound and hope to use it. Can't get to my relaoding room due to our guests, the IN LAWS!.
In terms of relative quickness:
#10 HP-38
#11 Win 231
#12 Trap-100
#13 Hi Skor 700-X
#14 Win 452AA
#15 Green Dot
This is only a segment of the chart but it gives you an idea of where 452AA is.
Thanks gentlemen. Looks like I might put together some light .45 Colt ammo with the 452AA and some of the Keith boolits I cast years ago.
I used to use a lot of it in my 38 Special loads in my K frame. Pretty good, but dirty. My son decided that it would make a good firework and lit up a 5 pound tin of it, a cup full at a time in a baked bean tin (along with about thirty lb of IMR powder as well.
I'll have a look at my old Winchester flyers tomorrow, I think they are in the shed.

The 1985 edition of the Winchester reloading Components Catalog lists the following loads for this powder:
38 Special:
148Gn WC, 2.9Gns, 800fps, 12,500CUP
158Gn LSWC, 3.4Gns, 845fps, 15,500CUP
45ACP:
185Gns Full Metal Case., 4.0gns, 686fps, 11,500CUP
185Gns Full Metal Case., 4.5gns, 769fps, 13,800CUP
The first edition of Nick harvey's Practical Reloading Manual, 1993 recommends the following as well:
45ACP:
185Gn W/C, Starting load: 4.4Gns, 750fps, Maximum load: 5.0Gns, 850fps
200Gn SWC, Starting load: 4.0Gns, 700fps, Maximum load: 5.2Gns, 900fps
I have used the 158Gn 38 Special load extensively in my K Frame over the years and finally ran out a few years ago. Shot well, but dirty as I mentioned earlier.
I also worked out a couple of loads as well as these, but I don't quote anything that ain't out of a book
Good Luck.
