    Strange Powder - Strange Bullet

    I recently bought some 300 H & H ammo for a rifle I do not have.

I pulled several of the bullets and powder because they were obviously reloads and I didn't want to blow up my non existent firearm.

The powder that came out a couple of rounds was new to me. I have never seen gun powder like this. It is gunpowder because I lit it and it acted like gunpowder.

Has anyone ever seen a powder like this?

    Strange bullet.

225 grain 30 cal hollow point. Appears to have 3 sections. A silver type metal for the middle collar.

Anyone ever seen a critter like this?

What's the headstamp on the cases? Never saw bullets like that, but wonder if they might be high-priced european factory stuff. The headstamp may help identify the powder and bullets.

That powder looks like something I've seen just can't put a name to it. I'll think about it tonight. That bullet looks custom or small shop to me.

I wonder if it is nitrocellulose without the graphite/deterrent coatings?

It looks sorta like universal clays but universal wouldn't work well with that bullet.

Both cases were headstamped Western. Boolits were cast 150 grainers.

Looks like the powder in some Norinco 9mm I have, looks like sand. Cleanest powder I have ever seen, fired cases look like they have been through the tumbler.

A little research indicates it may be Russian powder with no graphite coating.

It's just strange that I have been looking at powders for 51 years and never seen this.

That bullet over 200 grains looks to be quite devastating. Weatherby made some unusual stuff for African plains game back in the day.
