    45 auto rim brass.

    any one know what the brass, 45 AUTO RIM, can be reformed from?

    My conversion book says they can be made from 45 Colt by building up the rim to .090 and inside reaming for the bullet. I wouldn't want to make them unless I had to. Much easier to buy them.

    Why make it when Star-line sells it ($.24 each) fore 500. I know it's backordered but my 45 colt was ordered 3 weeks ago and although backordered the package shows up 4 days later.
    500 may be more brass than you need but breaking it into smaller quantity for resale would be less trubble than making it.

    You might try putting a WTB ad here. There are a lot of diehard .45ACP shooters out there who tend to disparage we .45AR shooters and might be willing to sell AR at a good price.

    Not long ago I dumb lucked into 450+ RP for the same price as ACP range brass . I think it was $45 shipped ..... Did I mention dumb luck ?

    I also bought some new Star line here , NOS $25/100 I think .

    Yes, since it is available from Star-Line at a reasonable price I see no need to reinvent the wheel............
