    Mossberg .22

I recently bought a Mossberg model 151 with a Mossberg small tube 4X scope. It came with the adjustment turrents on the top & left. This is unlike the conventional way of mounting a scope. I did look on GunBroker and they also showed some both ways. What is the correct way ?

For reasons that make no sense to me, the elevation turret goes on top.

If it was up to me, the elevation turret would be on the side, and turning it clockwise would lower impact while turning it counterclockwise would raise impact. I’m sure there is a good reason not to do this.

Ejecting shell hitting turret so some folks will rotate scope, top and left. My m100 win. is that way.

"I was Up-right until I was Left- down"- was how I remembered to adjust a scope when it was rotated to clear case ejection on a particular rifle.

Check out “RimfireCentral”, scroll down to the Mossberg tab. It has lots of info.

Also, Havlin Sales is a good place to find parts and info.

    Hopes this helps.

Sorry about that. I got interrupted in the middle of my post and apparently hit reply before leaving.
Because screws go in and out the turret on the side is going to go left and right and the one on top is going to go up and down. You can orientate the turrets with the one turret on the left or the right side but it will still adjust the bullet strike left and right
