Could the mold be warped? I bought a used Lee 6 cavity and the mold halves do not close tightly in the center.

Have you talked to Lee about this problem? You may be doing everything right and the mold may be defective. Do what everyone above said but then also start a dialog with Lee.

I suspect the weight variation was caused by a troll.

That technique may not give reliable results. The pouring rhythm will not be the same and your grip “could” be different. It might give better results to segregate the boolits into containers by using a stick or bamboo skewer to flick them out of the mold. My guess is that there’s a problem with technique.

You should never have to do this with a mould.

I took that to mean a way to keep them segragated by cavity. Instead of trying to isolate 1 cavity at a time or trying to keep track of the order when dumping them out.
Most of the tanks are gone and the windows don't rattle anymore. I won't be able to sleep now.

I have never had that problem with numerous molds that I have used I stopped weighing things and worrying about that along time ago most bullets I shoot or just for fun plinking And informal target shooting and everything seems to shoot and work just fine without the hassle of weighing hundreds of bullets.
