.375 Winchester loads using Buffalo Rifle powder

Does anyone use Shooters World Buffalo Rifle powder for loading the .375 Winchester? I was curious as I have this powder and the Shooters World web site lists loads for the .38-55 but not the .375 Winchester.

Pretty sure if you research the 375 Winchester, you'll find that 38-55 loads will work!! Here's a great explanation from Tim at Buffalo Bore on the subject.

cwtebay, thanks, but I was specifically interested in reloading with Shooters World Buffalo Rifle powder as I have brass, bullets, primers, and Buffalo Rifle powder.

If they have 38-55 loads listed, then it should be fine for the 375 win

Shooter's World Buffalo = Accurate5744 (they are the same Lovex powder). western Powders reloading manual has 5744 loads for the Win 375. Try their website. My manual lists 200 gr Sierra over 28 to 31 gr 5744. 220gr Hdy over 26.6 to 29.5 gr 5744. And a 250 gr RCBS cast over 23.4 to 26 gr 5744.

I see that, go to your powder maker's website and download the load data.

Buffalo Rifle and Accurate 5744 are the same, the 375 Winchester is pretty much a souped-up high pressure version of the 38-55. Both 5744 data and 38-55 date should be fine in the 375 Win using 'NORMAL' load development, starting light and working up.

Our experience with the 30-30 cast loads has been that SW Buffalo powder burns slower than 5744 and 4198. If you use buffalo with 5744 load data it should be safe but perhaps will make less velocity.

24 - 25 gr. Of Buffalo rifle behind Lee 250 sized .377 work great on my Encore 38/55. Should do the same in 375.
