    Happy birthday to me!

I got home and the wife says "Go out to the porch and get your birthday present, that's as far as I got..."

Apparently Amazon got it out of the car and left it at the fence, and she got it from the fence to the porch and decided I could get it from there.

Now I have to find a place to mount it. I think this means I need a new bench.

5.5" I think. Big enough for pretty much any pistol and most rifle work.I need to order some nylon jaws for it, though.

Nice vice. I've got a harbor freight clamp vice which works for me but it's not half as nice as that.

Wilton is a upper end name in vises. That a really nice one.Yes now you need a bench heavy enough to match the vise.

In a pinch split a copper pope length wise and flatten the bend up into caps for the vise.

My friend has a 6 inch Wilton mounted separate from the bench. An 8 inch steel well pipe set 2 feet into concreate with a 3/4 inch piece of steel welded to the top that it is bolted to.

It doesn't move at all and is great for anything you try to use it for.
