Got a good deal on a Glock 30SF. Those of you that cast for the 45ACP what mold do you recommend for economical practice and shooting my local match. IPSC targets range from 5 to 20 yards.
Thank you for your time.

I don't shoot IPSC Match or Glocks but boolits cast from the Lyman #452460 200 gr. mould and fired in a Colt Gold Cup helped win 4 trophies in some old school NRA Bullseye Matches , you shoot 22- 38- 45 in slow timed and rapid fire legs . They may call it Precision Match now .
The same boolit in a Service Grade 1911A1 won a first place trophy in a G.I. Service Match ...
With it's pet load the Gold Cup would keep 10 shots inside 1 1/4" group at 25 yards .
I have never had any feeding problems with this design in 5 different 45 acp pistols over the years ...2 full size Colts , 1 Colt Commander , 1 Star model PS and one Taurus 1911 .
This design is an oldie but it works .

I too use the Lyman 452460. Mainly in my Kimber 1911, but it also works in the ACP cylinder of my Ruger Vaquero.
It does look awful short when loaded right, but I don't have any feeding issues.
The H&G 068 seems to get all the glory, but the Lyman 452460 works just as well for me. Whether it will in your Glock, I do not know.

Neither my Glock 21 or my Glock 37 in 45 GAP will shoot semi wadcutters. I'm just starting to collect the equipment to cast bullets, but have been shooting commercial cast bullets for years. 225 gr truncated cones run great in my 20, as do 200 gr RNFP, which work in the Glock 37. I tried different overall lengths, but no success. Others may have had success with SWC in a Glock, but for me it didn't work.
Oddly enough, my 2 45 pistols and hipoint carbine all prefer the lee 200rf designed for 45 colt over the tc or hg-68 style molds I have. I powder coat and I have to seat just past the grimp groove to get them to plunk in my shortest throated pistol, but they are much more accurate. I assume it has to do with bearing surface to length ratio, kinda like a wadcutter for target shooting.

Lee 200 gr SWC over a healthy load of Bullseye.
My choice is almost always a 200-210 gr SWC.
BUT!!! If there is any doubt whether those will feed I use a 200 gr flat nose. Accurate 45-200E. Everything so far gobbles it up.
Some pistols aren't going to run with a SWC. The original XD45 is one of them that's problematic with SWC boolits. I've tried a lead SWC boolit in five different ones and haven't gotten one of them to run.
What happens is that when the slide is moving to the rear the brass of the fired round hits the case mouth of the top round in the magazine and peels the case mouth back.
Of course that round will fail to chamber and it ruins the brass.

Dad was an avid Bullseye shooter for decades and had a ton of state trophies to show for it. His favorite bullet was the Lyman 452488. Works very well in .45 Colt revolvers too.
For a Glock, get a 230gr round nose
3.8-3.9gr CLAYS makes a wonderful IPSC load, accurate, affordable, economical, low flash, shoot major, but feels minor.

`All I've shot in my two 45's is the basic 230 gr round nosed bullet. I get great accuracy and once I had a load developed never looked for anything else. Frank
Yep same here, Lee mold 230 gr round nose (hardball shape) L2 alloy. Tumble lube.
Glocks are notorious for being disagreeable with SWC profiles, esp the smaller frames.

The Lyman 452460 or any of the other H&G 68 clones have always performed well in all of my 45's.

Either of the Lee 230 Truncated Cones. Have not found a pistol or revolver that does not shoot them well. Have both, like both, use both. 1911s, New Service, SAA, Webley, Schofield, Marlin 94, Uberti Henry.
The H&G 68 and its clones usually works well in most pistols.
Go with a round nose cast bullet like the Lyman 452374. I use this mold and it feeds flawlessly.
I too have a Glock 30 and it will not feed semi wadcutter bullets. I've tried it with the factory barrel and an after market Storm Lake barrel.
One round nose mould you may not wish to buy is Lee452-228-1R ... that 1R nose profile is just not right ... at least in Colt 1911's and a Star model PS...had feeding troubles !
Only mould I ever sold , $2.00 and I felt like I cheated the guy .
It's a Wonky Boolit in self loads I had .
Lyman 452460 is the feeding champ .
