    OAL for 77gn 223 delima

    If you have experience with reloading 223 with the Arsenal Mold Elvis 77, please share your experience with me.
    If I sound like a rookie at this, Its because I am. I have really enjoyed collecting and processing brass and lead all winter. After I received my mold I now have about 30 pounds of beautifully cast 223 that are perfectly powder coated, sized on a Lee sizing die and ready to go. My experience casting and shooting 9mm in my PCC has been a joy

    Here is my problem/question;
    If I seat the new 77gn bullet deep enough to clear the chamber it results in the bullet base sitting way deep in the case, the base tension band is back in the combustion area of the cartridge. So, Seating more forward results in the curved section of the bullet cone bumping the chamber.
    Right now I am thinking of biting the bullet by just melting down all those fine bullets and selling the fine 5 cavity mold and starting over

    What is working for you that are successfully reloading with the Arsenal Elvis 77 molded bullets. Many have shared ideas and great knowledge, but I really am seeking hands on experience. I am shooting from a milspec Anderson AR15 with 16" barrel.

    I've loaded plenty that deep, mostly for 300 blk.
    Just don't forget to take that into consideration when deciding on a charge.

    With the AR, I've loaded similar weights below the case neck with no adverse effect. Make sure those rounds fit in the magazine.
