    Alloy for 9mm hollow points

I have a Mia .359 125hp mold coming. I cast revolver hps from 20:1. What are y'all using for 9mm?

    Thanks

I use 50/50 powdercoated for mine. Works great.
Due to the price of primers, warning shots will no longer be given!

If you're powder coating 50/50 is a good alloy, you can actually sneak under that a bit & still be ok. Every gun is different.

I use range lead with 2% Sn. 20-1 should be ok, provided you make your boolits fit the gun.

    I use 8/9bhn range lead and pc them. They get used in 2 different 9mm pistols, a 1100fps 5" bbl load & a 1050fps load in a 3.2" bbl.

I will go to the backstops to not only get lead for casting, I look for the bullet I shoot and inspect them for things like skidding (inspect the grooves from the lands) along with compression. The top right bullets are those mihec 359-125gr hp's fired from a 5" bbl'd 1911 @ 1100fps with the 8/9bhn alloy that is pc'd.

I use piles of that bullet in the 1911, too much fun!!!!

I use this load for my blammo ammo/dirt clod killer ammo with that 359-125gr hp

Enjoy your mold, I like this design enough that I sold all my other 9mm molds off.

If I have bullseye in the hopper I'll make up a bunch of rounds using 4.0gr of bullseye. That load doesn't group as tight as the wst but it's 1 heck of a load.

COWW for bulk ammo for the kids to shoot.
1:1 SOWW:COWW for self-defense ammo. Expansion between 1000-1100 fps is great, and bullet doesn't come apart.
That particular MP mold design is fantastic. Like Forrest, I got rid of all my other 9mm molds, even ones that did well. Now I use a pair of two-cavity MP molds, with the round HP pins. My 9mm reloading set-up is set for that bullet, and I don't use anything else.
