    Ammo on the Shelves?

Yall starting to see ammo on the shelves?

Passed today in a local Academy, 22's 308,7.62x39 9MM that was all in stock but did have a limit of 4 boxes

I didn't buy any of it, But if I was it would be sub-sonic 22

1000 FPS 9.99 for 50 rds. still a bit on the stiff side so I'll wait....and you?

Yeah $0.20 per round of .22 I’m not that desperate yet, well unless it’s Eley or SK.

Not a single box at my local Wally World, not one. Nothing of consequence at my local gun shops (no .22LR, .223/5.56, 9mm, .40, 0r .45)

Went to a gun show last weekend and they had a pretty good selection. One of the vendors had better prices than we've seen online lately.

Even 16 gauge shot shells have finally disappeared from the local shops. On the upside, I’m seeing more and more common calibers appearing online and staying in stock for days instead of minutes. Ruinous prices, but it is at least ammunition for those desperate enough to pay.

I've been seeing one or two individual calibers in the two shops here. I like to keep at least 50 to 100 rounds of factory onhand for my pistol calibers and I found some 9mm at one of them a few months ago for $15 a box. We picked up 3 boxes. It's stayed like this since then.

Murdochs had quite a few .223's and 7.62x51 on the shelves a few days ago. the 223's were about $15 per box of 20 and the 7.62x51 was about $28 for box of 20. Limit of two boxes if I remember. They are looking awful pricey to me. I swage my own bullets for both .223 and .308 so my costs are considerably lower than the "Factory" prices they had posted - as long as my supply of primers and powder holds out.

I have decided to buy a case of .410 shells whenever they return. I'm impressed with the made in Italy Monarch brand( Academy) shells that they allowed me to buy(ONE box) when I bought a .410 Yildiz from them. They won't be reasonably priced.......410s never were.
I only buy .22 rimfire and shotgun shells- everything else I load myself.

It's been on the local shelf for awhile but the price is just insanity. It'll come down. When it does, stack it high and deep. Some will read that and actually do it, others can't (those are the folks I feel sorry for) and others will think it's BS. We'll hear their whining next ammo dry spell.

I saw remington 300 savage 51 dollars a box , online and in shops I have been looking for 16 gauge , did get some wads and hulls and a loader .

410 I was asked about by a coworker , found a B&P at natchezz for 12.50 a box limit 10 sold out pretty fast , federal at their site for 18 and change .

I hope primers and ammo return and not at the higher inflated rate , but I feel that prices for everything are going to be much higher .

Federal had american eagle and some other 9mm at 28 a box limit 4

We just had a Dunham's grand opening here last Saturday. A neighbor told me they had lots of ammo for the grand opening. That was OK, I load my own, didn't need anything but later in the day that evening we ventured there. I have not seen this much ammo in years. I didn't look for every caliber but there was 9 mm out the wazoo, 115, 124, 147, tons of it from every manufacturer, several levels of quality. Same with 223 and 556, shelves and shelves of it. I was just staring almost felt bad that I didn't need to buy anything with so much available. Limit of 3 boxes per caliber. Oh and 22 mo as week, CCI mini mag was $12. 9 was $20 start, $25 toward the higher end. Had all aluminum stuff as well. I was very impressed.

We were in the Salina Mall maybe six weeks ago and saw that coming, good store?

Not just ammo related, but it has been heart breaking to me to see the way American retailing has changed. An empty mall is awful for me to walk through, but that one seems to be refusing to die, two of the empty anchor stores now have good businesses back in them.

I need to get over there and check out the new Dunhams.

Went into Walmart Sunday, one box of good #6 16 gauge loads and a handful of 12 gauge shells, that was it. None of the cheap trap loads I was looking for. I think the ammo situation will be bleak for a while still.

Ammunition is getting more available and coming down in price. That trend will continue. I expect the "new normal" for components will be about 25% higher than before the panic started. Ammunition should be less of an increase. My rationale is that the new (panic) gun owners will buy a couple of hundred rounds and be done so supply will catch up quickly. Reloaders (at least the smart ones and those who have the means), will be stockpiling and it will take longer for primer and powder supplies to meet demand.

I will not be buying any ammunition (except maybe .22's), but have $7k to invest in primers to get me back to a lifetime supply....or at least until the next shortage when the cycle repeats.

Have a new "built" 350 legend and was lucky to get a bag of100 Winchester brass. It must have been the very last available. Now all is "out of Stock" So everything simply turned into "Redneck DIY time" First push through dies, boolit cherries, a 350 boolit mold 5 hole with handles. {Milling table left unlocked and wound up with different weight boolits},and a swaging die from scratch. Now I have .3565 dia GC boolits in sizes from 155 gr. to 224 gr., all with the same nose configuration. Will post on Forum with pictures and everything later. I am in, for not buying factory ammo.

you mean the factory DOES make ammo? huh, well i'll be. i got all this handloading stuff and you mean to tell me that the factory does it? nah, you're just foolin me!!!

its been going on 30 years ago when i fired the factory ammo. the only thing i need is a 8 lb jug of 2400 and imr4895. the primers are alright, but i'll take 10-20,000 of them. the 22rf has been replaced with my 20 vartarg(34gr hp midway/midsouth makes them). and i think that i have 7000-8000 jacketed bullets for the 20vt. i could cast boolits everyday for about 30 years and i would still have lead.

Saw CCI 209 primers on the shelf today, $7.99 per 100 but they were there. First primers I've seen in months.
