    US Military 30.06 makers????

    I have a load of 30.06 cases.
I was thinking of making a display of all the different head stamps.
I found a chart that shows US ammo head stamps, but it doesn't tell me who made 30.06 only.
Looking for all the US military makers of 30.06.
    Anyone know?????

Are you looking for a manufacturer of 30-06 ammo only? My guess is if they loaded 30-06 they loaded other cartridges as well.

Stewbaby, has posted the listing of Military Ammunition makers, most of which did make 30-06 and other caliber U.S. Military ammo. Frank

My Mom worked at the St. Louis plant from Jan of 1943 till 1945. She said that she worked on the line for the belt fed 30 cal machine gun ammo. Mom and Dad were married in Aug of 1942 and Dad shipped out for North Africa and then to Italy. They didnt see each other again until after the war ended in 1945......................Curdog

I have read in the past from some reliable source (not on the internet) that some plants were set up to load only cal. 50 MG ammo; I don't recall other single-cartridge ammo plants, but they probably existed.

some plants were set up to load only cal. 50 MG ammo I've heard that also but probably for aircraft ammo (tracers and incidiary/explosive ammo). 50 did pretty good in 'dog-fights' and on light armor stuff. It wasn't fast enough for supersonic A/C though. F86 had a problem outrunning it as did a few others in strafing runs. Same reason for 5/38, 3" just didn't have enough energy to knock down A/C.
    Whatever!
