It's for an old style Craftsman hand-held grinder ( which I have) long before the modern Dremel ever existed (I think). Probably made for the old Atlas/Craftsman lathes Sears used to sell.

Knowing the EXACT dimensions of the small and large openings is CRITICAL!

I don't have one of these early Craftsman hand grinders, but I bet those were the same as (maybe made by) the old Dumore. I bet minor fitting problems might be addressed by making adapter sleeves.

For illustration only... This is the Craftsman 1/4 hp grinder. Had it at least 40 years.

If you have a lathe turn an adapter for the dremel works fine.

The one I have is made by Dumore! I have one of those labeled brands also. Both look surprisingly similar. Craftsman made nothing in the "unique" power tool range.....re-labeled manufacturers abounded. And still do.

I look at those grinders on lathes as sanding grit spreaders for the ways.....to wear them out even faster! Just covering them does not protect from fine air borne grit that seems to be magically attracted to the oily ways. I never use my real tool post grinders on my good lathe.

Makes a great bench top holder for the little power tool!
