Reasonably sure the title says it all.
Need the mold. And brass to form into 280 Ross.
Got one?
Want to sell it?
Want to trade it for something?
I got lots of something.
Let me know what kind of something that you want.
Thanks!

Got to be one of these on someone's bottom shelf way in the back that you would like me to own.
Maybe a Lyman # also, I don't know when they stopped making them, if it was after Lyman bought the Ideal company and started putting their name on the molds.
Sent you a couple of PMs. Can't help with the mold, but I may be able to help with others.
Might PM BCall [https://castboolits.gunloads.com/sho...-Lyman-291379] as he recently acquired that mould.

Even crossing my toes hasn't gotten me any responses on this mold. Bummer.
Anybody?
Got a message tonight, still got the fingers and toes crossed........
Still looking for this mold, groove diameter on this rifle measures at .290.
I've got a NOE 137 grain .290 mold on the way, supposed to get here today.
Figure I can beagle the mold to get a little fatter boolit, going to be Ben's Liquid Lube until I get a sizer die made.
I've got concerns about feeding with the NOE boolit though. It's got a wide meplat and I've had feeding issues with this nose profile in other rifles.
What doesn't help feeding is this a Mauser, not a true Ross. Bolt face is a little different and I'm using 7mm Rem Mag brass. Rim diameter is a little small.
Tried Quality Cartridge "correct" brass, (@ $6 each!!!) it has the same too small rim. Apparently it works in a true Ross but not in a custom Mauser built in England.
The 7 Mag feeds ok with a NOE round nose 7mm boolit. Extracts if you hold the rifle above 45° when working the action.
Long story short, still looking for THIS mold.
Anybody?
The guy with the mold is only an occasional visitor, hasn't been on in a over a month, still holding out hope that the mold is on the back shelf and he'll find it.
Anyone else got an old weird mold they want to get rid off?
I have an ideal 280412 mold , it says 190 below that, not sure if its the same but I see ross 280 but I do not know what that is. if you need it let me know
Did you find some 375 Ruger brass?
I was able to purchase 100 pieces of 475 Ruger basic brass. If someone can form these into 280 Ross, they are waaaay stronger than I am.
My Rockchucker is bolted to a 5"x18" plate of steel that is morticed into the top of a plank bench top that is tied to 4x6 posts sunk 48" into the ground. Plus an identical steel backing plate on the underside of the bench.
Wasn't sure which was going to happen first, split the die, break the Rockchucker, pull down the shed around me or buy the chiropractor a new Mercedes.
I gave up. 7 Mag comes out just a little short but Chambers and shoots just fine rim diameter is a little small for 100% reliability but it works and my back is still intact. Well sort of for someone who has abused it as much as I have.
Long way around to---anybody got one of these old wierd molds you could part with?
