As the title says. Want to see if it will cure a bulge problem I'm having with 9mm cast loads.

Do you know what is causing the bulge ? Are you having a functioning problem or it is cosmetic. My rounds with a bulge at the bullet base function fine.

So much of that depends on the chamber of a particular gun. I load .357" sized boolits for 9mm (which is over sized, but not as oversized as some will use) and when I load them into certain brands of cases with thick walls (CBC is worst), I get a bulge and will have an random issue with chambering in one of my guns. Myself, I don't like to use the Lee carbide FCD to solve that problem, I just cull out the thick wall cases.

I may have to make up a slightly smaller expander. Some of my brass gets a bulge, others are ok.
Thought maybe the Lee fcd would even everything out.

I would sort out the cases that bulge. Pull a CB from a loaded round with bulge and with out bulge. Measure the CB's to see what diameter they are after seating. If they are smaller than what you sized them to, then you don't want a small expander.

I had problems with a .45 acp doing this with a .451 fmj. I gave up and after loading, sent them through the resizer again. This made them pass the plunk test. Justa thought.
