    Question Unknown dropping block

Saw this today. It has no maker's marks. Looks like it may be a Winchester highwall clone. Anybody know what it is? Bore is approximately 30 caliber and it is chambered for a rimmed cartridge. Bore is rusty and there is no trigger. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Looks like a badly neglected Bo Clerke highwall clone. You could get a number of different lever styles, including that one with the ball end.

I think he sold actions as well as rifles, so it might have been barreled by the purchaser. I don’t think the internal mechanics were the same as a Winchester.

What’s that stuff taped to the barrel? OK, one of the pieces is the stock bolt and nut, but the other?

Bent Ramrod, I think it is a forearm hanger. It is threaded into the front of the action. Thanks for the tip on the possible origin.

Yup. I have a couple of semifinished castings, sold to me as Bo Clerke. Have never figured out how the internals were arranged.

Here's a photo of a striker action based on that casting.
