Guy's finally gotten around to touching my stock color up and matching it a little better. Think I will leave her alone now.

I really like that larger than standard but not large loop sized lever that Henry puts on those. I'm planning to get a .357 at some point.
    Currently casting and loading: .32 Auto, .380 Auto, .38 Special, 9X19, .357 Magnum, .257 Roberts, 6.5 Creedmoor, .30 WCF, .308 WCF, .45-70.

    Thanks guy's,
That 357 mag will probably be one of the hardest to find. Very popular.

They come through my side job shop fairly often, lack of funding is all that keeps me from getting one!

You are correct about the tape. But I am never careful enough. I seem to scuff the finish at some point no matter what. Then the pad is never even with the stock. So I just put them together and sand them down together. Just kind of getter done guy.
That's about how it works for me too. I am not patient enough to just scuff the tape. On my Savage 99 I taped over the checkering and lightly sanded the stock and refinished.
I also like the lever on your Henry, I have a Marlin 1895 and the lever is too small. I also like the fact that Henry added loading gate but retained the ability to remove the tube to dump the mag contents.

Several Positives on the Henry. Really looking foward to seeing some Ruger made Marlins though.
