It means it was made by Marlin prior to being purchased by Remington. Do a google search for “Remlin” and read of the QA issues and rifles that should never have been shipped.

    Very nice!

Is that a 24 inch barrel or a 20 inch?
Hard for me to tell in the picture

He edited the original post to reduce the price to $1000.00.

Do you have the original box or paperwork?

Does this rifle have a safety or is it pre-safety?

    What production year?

No. First two digits of the serial are 92. I believe this is a 2009. It has the safety.

Can you measure the barrel again. Really looks longer than 20". Might just be me.

    Rockrat,
Cut the guy a break I believe he is capable of reading a tape measure. I'm pretty sure Marlin made one length of magazine tube. On the 20" model (which almost all octagonal barrels are) the magazine tube comes almost to the end of the barrel. On the 24" models, there is about 5" or so of barrel sticking out past the end of the mag tube.

I'm pretty sure the Op knows what he posted is correct
