    Bl-c(2)

From an estate sale, I just scored 10lb of this for a ridiculously low price (even when components were plentiful). All have the same lot# and this NOS seems to have been stored correctly, no rust and passes my smell test. Is this a niche powder ... meaning, does it shine in a specific application or mulitple? What is your favorite use for BL-C(2)?

a great old powder used in NATO 7.62 for a bunch of years. works great in 308 and 223/5.56 and others. might want to use mag primers as it is a ball powder

I use it in 223 and 308 with superb results. Match grade accuracy. Easy and consistent to measure.
All in all a great powder.
I have never seen the need for magnum primers with this powder.

Used it in 223, 243, and 06. Meters extremely well. Did find it necessary to use mag primers in 243 and 06. Found the issue with electronic ear muffs, some rounds had a definite click bang when fired. Mag primers fixed the issue.

Way back when it was surplus powder at $0.90 per pound, I shot allot of it. It was not the best powder, but it did OK in 30-06, 308 etc. I would be delighted to have ten pounds of Ball-C 2.0.
Disclaimer: The above is not holy writ. It is just my opinion based on my experience and knowledge. Your mileage may vary.

I have a pair of bolt action rifles in 7.62x39. BL-C2 is too slow to be a good choice on gas operated semi-autos, but is excellent for bolt actions in this caliber with both cast and jacketed bullets. I have also used it in 223 with jacketed hollow points and it works really well and is very accurate. In smaller capacity cases BL-C2 will fill the case and have good load density. These loads work fine with standard primers. With medium and larger capacity cases magnum primers are recommended. It can be used in 308, but in my humble opinion there are newer and better powder choices available.

Make sure that is BL-C(2). There was a BL-C. I can't make out the photo for sure.
This powder is close to Varget and WW 748. Many uses.

Yep, this is BL-C (Lot #2). I just loaded up test rounds for my Garand and Colt SP1 and will shoot them over the chrono this weekend. Also, going to put it to use in the 30WCF and .35Rem.
    Cheers

I used it for years in my 222. Wore that barrel out and rebarreled to 20-222. I wound up working up to the exact same charge weight, (23 gr.) and this rifle flat SHOOTS!!

I love BLC, and hope it comes around to being easy to fine again.. By the way, I also use it in my SKS x39 shells for the most accuracy I've had in that round. jd
It seems that people who do almost nothing, often complain loudly when it's time to do it.

This was the same as surplus 846 from the military. I finally ran out but used it in 223 and 308 with no issues at all with surplus projectiles as well. 20 years ago Bartlett sold it for $64 for 8lbs.
