    Rifle question

I have a buddy that's a bit hard up - has an AR-10 in 300 saum for sale. DPMS, gunfighter ambi charging handle, unknown 20" bull barrel, unknown BCG, timney trigger (unknown model). Iron sights (he sold the optic previously). Unknown muzzle devices. Claims approximately 250 rounds fired through it. I saw it about 2 years ago, good shape. Has 400 pieces of brass and around 2500 bullets, 175+/- rounds of factory ammo. 8 factory mags.
He's wanting $1500. Fair? Can someone give me a better idea of prices for this set up? I'll be honest - not my speed, but it does sound interesting!

    Thank you in advance!!

The components, mags and ammo are probably worth around $1000 alone- just guessing.

Not a caliber I am interested in but yes, I'd say a fair deal to help out a buddy.

If he's a good bud, I'd try to jew him up to $1700. jd
It seems that people who do almost nothing, often complain loudly when it's time to do it.

Best answer so far. It is a very good deal with todays prices. Would not have been a bad deal a year ago.

Thank you all whom helped me here.
I've owned exactly 2 AR-10/ AR-308 rifles. They've never really appealed to me for whatever reason. But this one just looks like fun.
I did kick the price up to $1750 after reading comments and a bit of GunBroker research.
I'll get it in a couple of weeks, I'll make sure to get some pictures posted.

    Thanks all again!

its a steal at todays prices. should give you about the same speed out of that 20 inch barrel as an o6 pushed to top end out of a 22 inch barreled bolt gun. heck you have near that much just in 2500 jacketed 30 cal bullets today. with what your getting your getting a heck of a deal on the components and mags and a free rifle.

    Well, I got it!!
I had to get it off of the table before the Master and Commander of the dining room showed up. But she appears to be in good shape, everything as advertised - actually a bit more factory ammo than I thought he told me!
I have a scope or two laying around that I'll have to get mounted before I am able to give a range report.

Being a modular type rifle, you can upgrade the barrel easily if you need to. Nice score.
