    Coolest looking bullets

If the bullet is cooler looking, then will it shoot better? These are my s&w J frame model 60 (-9) fun loads. 155 grain deep hollow pointed keith bullets, 15.5 grains ww296. The hollow point stops at the crimp groove. Very satisfying on the steel plate. Rings like a bell! Does my hypothesis hold water? Let's talk about it. ]

30 caliber is fun, too! Lee 170 fn seated and crimped in the groove, 308 winchester. IMR-4227&IMR-3031. I like 30 grains of 3031, it feels good in the lever action 308 Win. BLR.

I'll vouch for the 170 Lee. Ugly with LLA or less ugly with orange....ish PC- they shoot quite well in MI trienta- trienta.

I find that as I progress with this skill set, my understanding of the tools, procedures, and possibilities increase, most limitations were self imposed.
The CZ has become my fantastic favorite target pistol. Lately have been shooting one handed at 25 (to warm up) through to 50 yards (Feels good! Could not have done that 12 months past!) at paper plates, and 100+ yards offhand one hand at an AR500 steel plate 12 inches across. Bang-ping bang-ping, sure want to do that again and again. Looked like they swallowed a pine cone when I showed them what i could do, shooting buddies needed the AR15 to keep up at banging the plates. How much range time and lead have I wasted at 7-15 yards?
I am a big fan of powdercoating the bullets. (Eastwood clear ultra gloss is awsome) It's so clean. Clean to handle for sizing, clean to load, clean to shoot, easy to clean. Clean up is two to five passes with a brass brush, after hundreds of rounds fired in the 9mm. These are MP molds 125 hollow pointed , 5.5 grain power pistol. Six inches hold under to strike the center of the plate at 50 yards, less at 100.
Been wanting to get a progressive loading machine, haha on that if primers and powders stay unavailable. I'm starting to enjoy casting and coating, sizing and loading, more than shooting. The last laugh is that I am using a Lee hand press in my lap, loading tray and perfect powder measure bolted to a stump.
Last idle thought... today was daydreaming if cicada countermeasures may be necessary, this summer, for the safety and security of the lead pot. Heard their song sound in full for the first this year, on saturday morning.

They look better when they look like this. Swaged for .44 Cal. using .40 S&W brass as jacket with dead soft lead.

Of Course Cool Looking Boolits Shoot Best !
And when it comes to revolver boolits ... a Elmer Keith SWC HP is about as cool as it gets !
Nice mould ... flat bottomed lube groove and all ... what make ? Show us the Boolit Mould.

The very first mould I ever bought was a SWC (Lyman 358477) ... based on cool looks and reading Elmer Keith and Skeeter Skelton magazine articles !

Right now I'm starting to re - read Elmer Keith's reprinted book "Sixgun Cartridges & Loads" (1936) I want to hear in his words how his version the SWC came to be ...the book is available from Amazon $9.95 softcover ... interesting reading .

Welcome to Castboolits from Cajun Country ... Louisiana .

Mp 358429 swchp. I am using the deepest pins installed. Propane torch and two cycle oil on a rag are a requirement for function. Once you get in a rhythm it rains bullets. I faced the top of the mold blocks and bottom of the sprue plate with the strop for my flexcut knife. Polished the hollow-point pins with 0000 steel wool soaked in atf. Heat, cleanliness and tin are the solutions to bullets fillout and release. Have to know when to walk away, can always cast later and make more. Need to make time to test these in the 77/357...

Matching chromed r-p brass. Loaded with unique. Made these last Friday night, maybe I can find the time this week to go shoot! My coworker says the blue hollow points look better, well... he owns his own opinion but no revolvers. Have not decided yet which shoots better...blue hollow pointed loads are ten grains IMR-4227, 38 special, food for the Taurus 82... speed loaders are for the j- frame. Eight cavity mp mold 358429 172 grain at home. I'll try to remember pictures later... been raining all day. That mold will empty the 25 pound sauce pan melted lead, real quick!

Mine is an old simple ideal 1cav mold. Rarely use it as Lead Alloy Bullets have not been legal to Hunt with in CA since the mid 1960's.
All Centerfire switched to Expanding Jacketed Lead.
Now Nothing can be Lead, not even .22 Rimfire.

If You're shooting that Hot load in a J-Frame; "you're a Better Man then I; Gunga Din".
    I HATE auto-correct

Happiness is a Warm GUN & more ammo to shoot in it.

My Experience and My Opinion, are just that, Mine.
