    S&w 617

yes I'm showing off but I do have a question as well

picked up one of these couple years ago, slowly been upgrading it

    sights

big butt stock - pau ferro (big butt counterbalances that long barrel really well)

This is a hoot at the range. Feels like a BB gun.

Any suggestions on improving the DA trigger? My DA pull is over 9lb

I agree, it's a real hoot. I too like the fiber optic front sight. The DA on mine feels great and getting better with much dry firing.

You can lighten the rebound spring and stone the action same as any center fire S&W, but I found I couldn’t lighten the mainspring much at all before I started having a lot of misfires.

I have also found that S&W 22 rf revolvers cant be made as light as CF ! i did put a new aftermarket longer frame mounted firing pin & spring on my 617 4" that i was shootin DA at steel plates for speed and it did help with missfires .

My only experience with extended firing pins was with Cylinder and Slide versions. I broke 2 of them in 7 pound DA pull center fire revolvers and swore no more. I hear that newer releases from TK Custom and Apex Tactical are more robust, but I will never find out.

A nine-pound DA trigger pull is excellent. If you lighten it I'm confident you'll get failures to fire. Rimfire ammo can be hard to ignite.

thanks for the replies. There's always a reaction to anything you do, I'd rather have a 9-pound trigger than FTF. I'm a big boy and can handle it just fine.
