    Broken Hill Ingot

G'day. A few days ago, somebody posted a picture if an Ingot that had "Broken Hill" stamped in it with the "Special" in a diamond and "BHAS" in a diamond. The OP was in the USA.

Can anyone link me to the post with the picture?

I have been offered an exact same ingot here in Australia.

Broken Hill is a mining company here in OZ and I'm interested in locating people with similar ingots.

So far, I have found that these ingots are pre WW1 and knowns as "Alpha" lead which is a purer form of lead.

    Thanks.
    Hooroo.
    Regards, Trevor.

I don't know if these 2 will help, but you can try:
    1) Treasurenet.com look for thread- 100lb bar from Broken Hill Australia- there are 2 pages of people sending in comments
    2) mindat.org Mystery Broken Hill ingot
    Good luck!

I got a couple that I cut up wth a cold chisel into smaller lumps to make ingots out of.
I’ll see if I have anything worth taking a picture of tomorrow.
    Definitely thumb nail soft.
I wish I could source some more.
These were out of a boats ballast.
