Sitting on the powerline across the alley. Held on the top of his head. This hopped up Crossman with the Walther Lothar barrel is like a laser beam. A crow is snacking on him now.

Got more details on the airgun? I’m looking for something to shoot snapping turtles.
And what is a yellowbeak and can it be worse than a crow or grakel?
Yellow beaks are starlings. And snapping turtles are much too tough for a C02 air rifle. I once shot one three times with a .44 mag and it was still alive the next day.
A guy we were fishing with took the snapper and put him in the bed of his pickup. Claimed he wanted to make turtle soup. I have not harmed a snapper since then on account of their long lives. I don't kill crows anymore on account of their remarkable intelligence. That 50 yard shot on the starling was quite sporting though.
Yeah, starlings are invasive, so fair game even though it won’t matter.
On the turtles, the pond is getting overrun and I thought a 22 pellet to the noggin from 30 yards would probably take the smaller ones, 10” diameter, out. Think not?
Isn’t it illegal to shoot birds off of power lines?
Anyone tried 'Dieseling' hollow base pellets by filling the base with petroleum?
I wonder if a dab of Vaseline in the skirt would work?

Definitions
Air gun - a firearm that uses spring or compressed air (not gunpowder) to propel a single projectile that is .17 caliber or larger and produces a muzzle velocity of at least 600 feet per second. Smooth or rifled bore air guns are allowed.
Starlings are the one bird that I detest. Any bird that is too lazy to raise its own offspring is a candidate for extermination in my book. Our town used to poison them and so did a large company in our town but the animal rights groups put a stop to it by threatening lawsuits. I have both air rifles and .22's and I will do any of them in that I see on my property, animal rights group be hanged. james
I think you might be confusing starlings with cowbirds. That being said, starlings will raid other birds' nests and kill the hatchlings.Starlings are the one bird that I detest. Any bird that is too lazy to raise its own offspring is a candidate for extermination in my book.
I once had a friend who watched a male starling go through a purple martin house and grab the young martins out of each entrance and toss them to the ground. Next year, my friend made a devious look alike house that would trap the starlings and send them on a one way trip down to a drowning bucket. Starlings are fair game in my book.
I have always heard that a female Starling will go to a nest of another species of bird, push out that birds eggs and lay her eggs in the nest; leaving that mother bird to hatch and raise the Starlings young. Starlings are not the only birds that kill other birds nestlings when they get a chance. There are several birds who will do the same. james
We had a bunch of starlings come thru about a week and half ago. Flocking to the feeder and running the yard birds off.
As soon as I saw that I grabbed a 12ga auto and trap loads and sat in the patio swing waiting. I got over 15 in about hour and half.
FUN FUN
@reloader28 - I concur, pesting is great fun and scratches that hunting itch nicely!
