I found my .480 Ruger load!

I've messed around with a number of boolits and loads for my SRH 7 1/2" in .480 Ruger.

My best is Hornady Case, RP 2 1/2 Primer, Lee 325gr GC sized to .476 (with homemade SAECO Speed Green), and 25.0gr WW296. Seated to the crimping groove with a very light crimp.

2" groups with no problem from the bench and I know a lot of the variability is me. I get 1250fps 3 feet from muzzle. Comfortable to shoot and plenty for deer. ZERO leading.

Use at your own risk (although it's not a max load).

watch those rem primers if your hunting in MI. When it gets cold they dont light off 296 well. If i were you id buy some cci 350s and see how it did with them.
