    SMLE bayonet

This may be in the wrong place, but can somebody go to Gunbroker, type this in ISHAPORE #1 MK III .303 BOLT SMLE DRILL RIFLE W/ BAYO W/ WELDED CHAMBER and tell me if BLACKMARKETFIREARMS is trying to pull the wool over my eyes. I own an SMLE and a No4 MkI and to me this looks like No1 MkIII drill rifles with a No4 MkI bayonet, but I'm no expert. Came across these looking for wood so I emailed them asking if the bayonets were correct and got a reply back that "this bayonet fits this rifle". Since I was looking for stocks it wouldn't matter, that and they're overpriced for what I'd pay since I just need the front pieces. I'm not an expert so I may be mistaken. They have quite a few so the pictures may just be stock photos as well, but see what everyone else's consensus is.

Forgot to mention, I also asked for pics to see how well the bayonet fits, I'll keep you posted on that one.

The Indians shortened the P1907 Bayonets by cutting and reforming the point to about 10" long.

He is asking if their pictures show a no4 bayonet and yes they do , it would not work on rifle they show , obviously 2 separate items not meant to go together but as gunbroker stuff goes that is to be expected , I have SMLE no1 mk3 and no 4 mk1 and 1/2 and I have the Ishapore 2a and it is patterned after the SMLE no 1 mk 3

I can understand stock pictures but saying the items fit when they clearly don't is another thing. I've seen bayonets not swap between various 2A's and No1 MkIII's but the No4 Mk1 has a completely different mounting arrangement.

Here's the reply I got back asking them if they had pics of the bayonet actually on the rifle.

Unfortunately, we do not have any photos of the bayonet attached.

    Thank You,
