    Homemade Concentricity gauge (3D printed)

    I've built a concentricity gauge with my 3D printer.

    Besides filament it uses 4 ball plungers (20 6x7mm ball plungers go for $10 on amazon - prime) and a dial indicator (I bought a Chinese one off flea-bay for $12)

    The dial indicator is unfortunately metric, but it still does the trick!

    I could move this to the special projects 3d printing subforum, if you'd like? Nice project. I like the thought of using a rail to align it all, sneaky

    I was thinking if someone is looking for a concentricty gauge they'd look here rather than think to look in 3d - I'll post a quick note there though.

    On the rail - initially I was going to use a section of metal Pic rail, then figured why not just print it - and as part of the base not have to do any assembly.

    I thought about this for a while, but haven't done much 3D modeling. A few weeks ago I youtube binged on learning FreeCAD, took what I've learned and apply it.
