    Percussion 410

Howdy folks, here is what I have been working on. Got some 410 wads from a generous member here on the site and put them to good use. What I used is a Jukar 45 cal percussion barrel that is 9 in long. Wrapped the wads with tracing paper and tucked the excess under the wad cup. When loading I used 25 grs of fffg powder ,first put felt wad over powder then slid paper patched wad down flush with barrel and poured homemade #7 shot into wad, finished with leather wad pushing it down barrel firm but not to hard.At 12 ft had a very good pattern. Paper fell off within 3 foot and wad was picked up and petals opened up perfect. Now I think I'm ready for Copperheads and Rattlesnake if they mess with me !Shot 7 times and barrel was not fouled at all. You guys have a good week

    Sounds like a plan.

    Thank you.
I just happen to have a Jukar .45 pistol and I reload for my .410 shotguns.
I will have to give your loads a try in my two .45 Thompsons and see if they will work for a Pest Gun

Forgot to mention the paper was cut 6 in long and 1 1/2 wide.left about 1/4 in of wad exposed.I did find that to many wraps would mess up when seating wad.used rooster jacket to seal paper to keep it from unraveling. The wads are red in color not sure of brand and hold 1/2 oz shot
