    30-30 with 135 gr.and Red Dot..

I finally got my NOE 310-135 rn/pb mold and it throws a beatiful cast bullet. anyway I started loading the said bullet powder coated with 8 grain of Red Dot. Going to be shot out of a 23" 30-30 T/C barrel. Anyone have any experience with Red dot and light bullet?

I was sure I tried that one... But... of course I cannot find my notes.. Based on the 300 Savage, you are starting in a very good place!! I will continue to dig thru my "Oh So Organized" records!!
Of note, a much lighter PB 95 grain .310 boolit is a "Fat Lady Fart" from my M94, with 7.0 gr of Red Dot behind it..1600 FPS at 10'.

I like the Lee .314 90 grain sized to .311 over 4.6 to 6 grains of Red Dot.

On my Win 94 it shot to the sights at 25 yards, not much louder than a .22lr but with double the wallop.
I truly believe we need to get back to basics.

    Get right with the Lord.
    Get back to the land.
Get back to thinking like our forefathers thought.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you
and give you His peace. Let all of the earth – all of His creation – worship and praise His name! Make His
    praise glorious!

I load either a 71gn pistol 'J' boolit or a 115gn GC over 10gn of Reddot in my 308 winchester! Great for plinking.

I use a 157 grain Accurate boolit over 7 grains of Red Dot. Your 8 grains and 135 gr boolit might be a touch fast. Id work up from say 6 grains to make sure leading isn't a problem.

I used a similar 130 gr PB boolit from a Lyman mold in my 30/30 using Red Dot. It shot well as long as I kept the MV under 1350 fps when leading started to reveal itself. Several coyotes could have attested to its effectiveness out to 150 yards.
