    i have a ruger mini 14 in .223...has problem

when the bolt is racked the cartridge is moved forward but does not tip up at the bullet tip enough to go into the chamber.

instead it hits below the chamber and the bullet is stuck at the area below the chamber.

does this on 3 thirty round magazines and 1 twenty round magazine.

the 20 round is a ruger mag and the 30 rounders are all pro mag.

what do i do to make these run?

also...does anyone use, shoot or know of round nose bullets instead of needle sharp bullets?

Just speculation, but I don't see how all your magazines can be bad. So I'm thinking that maybe the magazine locking mechanism is worn, and allowing the mags to sit too low in the magazine well as related to the chamber. When a mag is locked and seated, is there any more up and down play to it? It should be tight.

yes it is tight ...they are new....gun not old , not shot much.

could it be the feed lips on the mags themselves?

Maybe the springs in the magazines were installed incorrectly. They're usually shaped like a "Z" and the open end of the Z has to be toward the front. If toward the rear it is pushing the rear up and the bullets are taking a nose dive downward.

Does this happen with a full mag? or does it happen with a partial filled mag?
If full mag, try putting 25-27 rounds in and see if there is improvement.
If you're so inclined, go buy a Ruger 30 rounder and see if things improve. I haven't had any problems with the genuine Ruger mags, but I have had some problems with aftermarket mags, speaking specifically of Mini-14. I have one of the newer mini-14, it's certainly not the rifle that my older ones from the 90's are. The newer one doesn't much like the aftermarket mags topped off. The older ones are super reliable.
Also, it certainly doesn't hurt to remove stamping burrs from the feed lips.

Put a good & bad loaded magazine side by side across the top and see if the rounds are 'presented' at the same angle,
    and the latches jive up.

If the bad mag. rounds are more level, and not angled up as much, I'd tweek the lips on one of them and try that.

With bolt open and locked on empty mag and chamber, can you grasp bottom of magazine and move fore and aft?
