    Marlin bore dimensions

    Hello friends,

Some time ago I came across a list of the bore dimensions and rifling styles of marlin rifles through out the years.

I can't remember if it was on this forum or the Marlin forum or maybe in one of my hallucinations.

I have Googled every where until I am wore out.

If you guys know the document that I speak of could you please help me out?

If I find it again I will print it out and put it in my reference library.

Thanks in advance for your time,

    Steve in N CA

Hello neighbors. I found the answer I was looking for.

Someone suggested that the info may be in Col. Brophy's book on the history of Marlin and it was.

I was particularly interested in the bore dimensions of the original 1894's chambered in 32-20 since I bought one built in 1899.

According to the book the bore is .305 with grooves depths of .0025. I slugged my barrel and it came out a perfect .310" with uniform rifling and no loose or tight spots. I'm very happy.

If I can get a scan of the pages I will be happy to post the info here.

    Thanks,
