    RMR Bullets Jacketed Bullet Cores

I've recently discovered RMR Bullets, and have been really happy, not only with their in-house made jacketed bullets, but their service as well. Really great folks.

Has anyone worked with their jacketed bullet core alloy? I just got 60 lbs and melted it all down into small ingots. My plan is to mix it with my wheel weight ingots to soften it up a little.

At 10 bhn though, I'm thinking their alloy by itself might be ideal for .38 special or .45 auto bullets, maybe with a little added tin.

Just curious who's worked with it before, and what your experience has been.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Nothing, really? I'm very surprised nobody here is using their alloy.

I got 60 pounds of it a while back. It was nice and clean, but I thought it to be much softer than the advertised 12 bhn.
Due to the price of primers, warning shots will no longer be given!

I’ve had a box of their lead sitting in my garage for months but haven’t had a chance to cast any up (12-15 hr days 7 days a week lately haven’t left a lot of time for casting)

I picked up 60# of their core alloy as well.

I've made 38/357 and 32 out of it. for the 357 I alloyed it up a little.

I also used it as a base and added some babbit to make some 8mm mauser / gas check projectiles.

    came out perfect.

I found them a number of months ago as well, and in fact posted about it. It seems that not many here have actually used them, but I did purchase some, given my positive experiences thus far with range-lead. It appears to be more-or-less the same thing, just without all the contaminants.

i bought 128# several months back, like it and thought I'd keep stocking up ...unfortunately, its out of stock now... hope it comes back... it is softer than COWW, its clean and handy for mixing with other alloys...

Has anyone done an accurate BHN test on the alloy?

I have had many purchases from RMR (Rocky Mountain Reloading) and can tell you that they are "stand-up guys."

Never, on an website, heard a bad review on Jake and his people. And I am not affiliated with them.

Yep, I believe they're out currently. I think like everyone else, there's so much demand for everything firearms related right now that it's tough for them to keep up.

I've cast a bunch of small ingots so far, but no bullets yet.

Never purchased lead from them, I have plenty. Their in house jacketed bullets are as good as any and are competitively priced. Don’t know about now but they did offer free shipping on $100+ purchases.

unfortunately, without that link.. it appears that lead is inaccessible from their website. I've tried navigating their site and from a click link point of view.. I can't make that lead come up that can be found in that link above.

IMHO.. hidden sales... their links are broken. if you navigate from that link, and hover over their 2 places you can see lead.. it works. navigate to home page and the the links are broken...
