    Star Lubricator Problems with Disassembly

The pump plunger (No. 124) on my Star is not returning under spring pressure, thus the following bullets are not getting any lube. What holds the pump plunger in the housing or how due you remove the plunger. ? If the bushing is worn how do you remove the bushing for replacement?
From the drawing, it looks like the fulcrum lever holds the plunger in place and the bushing is in a flanged hole.

Heat it up a little?. Old grease will do that.

Make sure the return spring isn't broken, sometimes it is difficult to tell. Yes, the fulcrum holds the spring and plunger in place.Remove cotter pin, remove pivot, remove fulcrum and both are free. I doubt the bushing is worn out, it rides in lube.

Try some really light oil on the plunger before you take it apart. I've found that heat and a light oil will keep them moving.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks guys, I got it out. It took a hammer and punch to get it out. The inspection plug may have been hitting the bushing. I took some lapping compound and all is well now.
