Price gouging? I think it has more to do with supply and demand.

Just got an email yesterday from Sportsman Outdoors that they've got CCI SP primers and only $110 per 1000 that makes midway prices "a deal"

I had a Product Arrival Notification for a Lyman mould, happened to be sitting at my computer when the email dinged, went directly to site, they were gone.

Bought a Lee six banger from Midsouth a week ago, lower price but with shipping came to $52.72. Bought one from Midway yesterday, $54.99 with free shipping. Midway order is already on the way, Midsouth, which was in stock is still waiting to be shipped. Potterfield's price on Lee molds is higher than it was last year but still less than MSRP.

I’ve bought two moulds as well, already shipped. Just out of curiosity decided to check evilbay: Lee 148 WC 6 cavity cheapest one on is $50 plus $15 shipping ! I’ve noticed that midway raised their prices but on the other hand if they didn’t all their stock would be just moved to evilbay.

I have had to buy somethings from Midway because of the shortages now. Ever since they pushed Larry out and put this new president in at Midway things have gotten expensive. The same molds at MidSouth Shooter supply are cheaper. Lyman molds are $96 at Midway and $75 at mid south. Midway seems to be getting preferred supplier status and gets molds in more often though. They have the lyman 356637 and its been in stock a while. So maybe things are slowing up and people are waiting for cheaper prices.

I used to be totally sold on Cabelas and their quality. Then they got expensive and then BPS bought them and now I can't trust anything from them. The last pair of their shoes delaminated the sole from the toe and I had to JB weld it. Midway was my go to for gun stuff, now when the panic buying is over, I will probably look everywhere else and only check them if I "have" to for something I can't wait for.

What's wrong with $29 for a Lee mold? I can't recall them being under $20 in the past few years.

It’s called supply and demand Comrades. Capitalism at its finest. Still better than having a socialist price cap on it. It’s not like the stores are getting things at the same price either. The cost will always get passed to the customer.

I snagged a six banger 452-255-RFN and 358-146-WC. When you figure in shipping it’s not bad.

I was thinking the same thing. I looked at my last 2 cavity and 6 cavity mold orders before the lunacy. 2 cavity was $23 and the 6 cavity was $46.

Seems like a decent price to me. Even for a lousy Lee mould. My experience is they have always been bottom of the barrel, only if I had to moulds. But then that’s just IMHO.

EDITED FOR CLARIFICATION: Looking more carefully at your note I now see that we're talking about two different entities. Apologies for any confusion that I creates from my misreading.

Sportsman's WAREHOUSE is going down hill fast too since they were acquired by Great American Outdoors Group (parent of Bass Pro and Cabelas). I much preferred them over Cabelas, but their pricing and SKU rationalization has them going into the crapper like Cabelas did following their acquisition. Shame.

Ironically, I bought many thousands of primers at the local Sportsman's Warehouse in Boise in February. CCI were $24 per thou and Federal were around $28 per thou or $31 for the GM versions. Seems like new management has "adapted" to market conditions.
