    How hot...?

...How much heat can a small coil gun spring take??

I painted some gun parts with a heat bake engine paint and it dawned on me that I didn't remove a small coil spring from the revolver frame......paint destructions say to bake at 250...400..and 600 degrees...don't exceed the temperature tolerance of the most sensitive part....which I figure to be a little firing pin spring which is pinned into the frame

Well my oven will not exceed 500 degrees....the spring has survived a 250 degree bake already

    Thanx Rag

    Greetings,

When tempering springs made from Music Wire they get "tempered/stress relieved" at 450 F.

    Cheers,

    Dave
