    A Song that touches your heart...

    Do you have a song that touches your heart, chokes you up,....or brings a tear to your eye?

    One that does for me is by George Harrison (former member of The Beatles) from the album Living in a Material World, titled That is All.

    In my view, George is relating to his experience during meditation, communing with God.

    Some of the lyrics:

    Times I find it hard to say
    With useless words getting in my way
    Silence often says much more
    Than trying to say what's been
    said before.

    ...and:

    But that is all I want to do
    To give my love to you
    That is all I'm living for,
    Please let me love you more - and
    that is all

    Lyrics can be found here:
    https://www.metrolyrics.com/that-is-...-harrison.html

    Listen to the song here:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fY3ZvRfMcU0

    For me, that song is touching...very touching.

    Care to share a song that touches your heart?
    Maybe add a comment or two?

    “I then shall Live” Gaither vocal band. The words are amazing.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsq3...DNhZIQ&index=1

    "I Then Shall Live"
    I then shall live as one who's been forgiven.
    I'll walk with joy to know my debts are paid.
    I know my name is clear before my Father;
    I am His child and I am not afraid.
    So, greatly pardoned, I'll forgive my brother;
    The law of love I gladly will obey.

    I then shall live as one who's learned compassion.
    I've been so loved, that I'll risk loving too.
    I know how fear builds walls instead of bridges;
    I'll dare to see another's point of view.
    And when relationships demand commitment,
    Then I'll be there to care and follow through.

    Your Kingdom come around and through and in me;
    Your power and glory, let them shine through me.
    Your Hallowed Name, O may I bear with honor,
    And may Your living Kingdom come in me.
    The Bread of Life, O may I share with honor,
    And may You feed a hungry world through me.

    Amen, Amen, Amen
    "My main ambition in life is to be on the devil's most wanted list."

    I know you said a song but, these two get to me! Johnny Cash-Hurt and Craig Morgan-The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost.
    The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first. - "Thomas Jefferson"

    I second that one.
    Another is our National Anthem while in a crowed being sung.
    One that is sung here at the end of gatherings. Everyone stands, holds hands, and sings together.
    Hawaii Aloha.

    "Clouds" by Zach Sobiech. Written and recorded by a 17yr old as a special gift to his girl friend, family and friends just months before he passed from bone cancer. It hit #3 on Billboard charts and has had more than 19 million views on YouTube. Disney released a full length movie with same title last year that tells his story.

    I am a pro keyboard musician and perform all different styles of music, including liturgical and secular styles.

    The songs I have trouble getting completely thru playing them are:

    The Old Rugged Cross
    He
    In the Garden
    America the Beautiful
    The Star Spangled Banner
    Silent Night
    Oh, Holy night

    It is bad when you cannot see the music for tears tears in you eyes! Simply listening to music is one thing, but actually performing it from within your heart & soul is really another experience!!!!!!

    Last week was a Navy funeral at the Veterans cemetery, to bury our deacon. I love Taps. Echo Taps makes me cry. I can play Taps on a bugle, simple little tune, was once called to play the Echo Taps and ended up with tears running down my face. I can play it, but I can't. Taps- sure. Echo Taps- never again. I am in awe of those who do sound it.

    I enjoy a lot of music. But there is one piece Bill Pursell version — 1963 "Our Winter Love" is an instrumental. It reminds of my mother and I get tears in my eyes everytime I hear it.
    “You should tell someone what you know. There should be a history, so that men can learn from it.

    He smiled. “Men do not learn from history. Each generation believes itself brighter than the last, each believes it can survive the mistakes of the older ones. Each discovers each old thing and they throw up their hands and say ‘See! Look what I have found! Look upon what I know!’ And each believes it is something new.

    Louis L’Amour
