MAS 36: worst trigger in history, re-visited.

For those who leave their MAS in the safe because of the 10-12lb trigger: there is hope. I don't have a disassembly video but it can be found on utube. I could not find anything on a trigger job, so I made it up as I went along. Ended up replacing the sear spring with an X74 thin wire spring. Shortened the firing pin spring to 4" and did a little grinding on the sear where it meets the firing pin. I left the trigger spring, as is, due the the fact that it is also the ejector spring. To disassemble the bolt, remove from rifle, press heel with the palm of your hand and turn clockwise. Reverse to assemble. Result.A 3-31/2lb trigger.Click image for larger version.
