A little used, the bore has some rough spots but the rifling is there from on end to the other. My hopes are I can find a bullet and lube that will work, and of course it will be nothing but the holy black.

Big problems finding a 300 grain mold. Everything is sold out. Anyone have one laying around they want to part with?

Hold out for the Lyman 457122 330gr HP mold. It's the famous Gould Express Bullet and with a full case of Holy Black, the gun ROCKS with this bullet. As you are aware, cartridge OAL is what limits bullet weight. Even so, this 330gr bullet absolutely rules in this rifle. I have clocked 1500fps with this bullet over a compressed 85gr charge of FFFG.

What about Tom at accurate ?

If he's too busy - Contact Cast Bullet Engineering in Australia and ask the guy for a proper picture/drawing/impression of their 458-360PB - they make quality Brass molds (but cut from cherrys so cant change dimensions) single cavity is AU$115 plus freight - I dont think they would be backed up orderwise like your guys.

You can also look at arsenals 460330 it's a improved Gould design no hp but bigger grease groves. Does great with black or smokeless.

    HI!
You will not be dis-appointed with Tom at Accurate Molds. Excellent to deal with . I own several of his molds. Excellent!
Clyde Williamson in his book "The Winchester Lever Legacy" shows how to improve accuracy in rough bores using cast bullets wrapped with Teflon tape (commonly used for sealing metal pipe joints). His tests showed groups tightened up to 35 % and in some cases up to 65%.
Just realized you plan to use black powder- this method may not work with black
    Good luck!
