I bought a brass .660 ball mold from a company in the UK.
but Im just cutting out the inside (center, not the rim) of the crimp of factory loads, dumping the shot and recasting it.
the ball is just about 1oz.
Pop the ball in, drop a homemade cardboard overshot wad and sealing it with a little hot glue or clear Elmers.
Just going to shoot them out of my HD Mossy 88 that is bore choke.
Pretty cool … Provide some feedback post range trip

    took them out today.
Seemed to work just fine. Definitely would be great for home defense but just not accurate enough at 50 yards or so for hunting.
Was shooting at about 18 or so yards and the way I have them loaded they were off about 4-6 inches nearly every time in one direction or another. Im going to try to do away with the glue and maybe do a roll crimp if its enough to hold the ball in the shell and see if accuracy is better next time.
the hot glue 'wax' slug I did before were maybe an inch off center target, and thats probably a 'me' thing, so they were a lot more accurate than these balls were today.

.662 and cylinder bore may just be too loose. May have to paper patch the ball a tad to obtain a tighter fit.

Yesterday I had some pretty good success at 25 yards with 12S0 wads in some repurposed Russian primed hulls thru my choked semi. 18.3gr Reddot. All were cycling fine and I was getting 2 to 3 inch spread. Pretty happy.

Also shot about 20 rounds of the Lee 7/8oz thru my Win SXP with pretty good results. WAA12SL with 17+ gr of Xtralite

    Good day at the range

If there is clearance for a cloth patch try that. As I said, I used an old cotton shirt that mic'd at 0.011" and that made a nice snug fit of ball and shotcup in my cylinder bore gun. Any amount of "rattle" will result in poor accuracy in my experience.

Best to put a ball in a shotcup then push it through the bore, it should be a snug fit requiring a stiff push to get it through. Ajay used to say 6 to 10 pound push is good. If you have a choked bore then you have to make sure the ball in wad will fit through the choke and I think preferably without shearing wad petals.

so you guys mean literally 'wrapping' the ball a bit to tighten up the fit?

With paper the approach I have taken is to roll a paper tube of two wraps then slip that into the shotcup, then add ball. You could use cross patches, that works too,

With cloth patch I load the hull with everything but the ball then put a patch over the case mouth and push the ball with patch into the hull (like loading a muzzleloader... but no short starter required). You could probably put ball and patch into the shotcup then seat the whole works but the patch tends to stick out between petals.

Better to find shotcups with petals thick enough to provide snug fit to bore if you have the selection available to try a few. I do not so made do but all in all cloth patching proved to be one of the more accurate methods for me.
