Cooker/smelter deal

I didn't want to hijack the thread about getting a great deal on a smoker,, so here's my story.

Yesterday, while cruising a Goodwill, I first found a nice heavy pewter pitcher with a few dents for $2.00. Made me smile.
But then, I found a box, containing all the stuff for deep frying a turkey. The burner, regulator, deep pit, strainer, lid, hooks, instructions, injector, thermometer, etc. Complete in box, and apparently only used once. It hadn't been cleaned properly, but for $15.00,, I got it all. Add a propane tank, and I can cook or smelt lead.
Of course,, it's a spare,, and I already had a couple. But,,, the pot, with the strainer & lid,, make EXCELLENT "Low Country Boil" batches quickly!
We cook a few of those a year in big batches.

Been wondering why I haven’t been finding pewter in the Goodwills around here.

Good catch on the fryer too, that’s less than I paid to replace the regulator on mine this spring.
