So I know that I've seen it somewhere but now I'm coming up short in my search. On the face of the cylinder that has the "S" stamped what is the purpose of a dimple being stamped next to one of the chambers?

No One? Dougguy, are you still reading this thread? I'm sure you've come across this and probably have an answer.

I dont know about those marks, but is the last 3 #s of the serial stamped there? Just curious.

Nope, just the S and a single dimple next to one of the chambers.

I’ve read about some with the last three but I thought those were typically conversions or older guns. Or was it the newer ones?

Mine has the 3 numbers on it and it's a 2018 model.

    Are they stamped or etched?

    This one is '99 vintage.

Looks like etched to me. I don't recall if any of my other Blackhawks over the years were so marked- but I like that it shows that it is the matching cylinder.

It does seem to make sense to have it on there for that reason. Kinda makes you wonder why they didn't always put it on there.
