Trimmer 223 using Lee Quick Trim Die on a Dillon

I got a big batch of 223 that I need to trim. I was all set to buy the RT1500 from Dillon, but they are backordered about a year for trimming dies.

Does anyone know if the lee quick trim die would work using the RT1500? Anyone tried it or something similar?

    Thanks

I'm pretty sure the Lee trim die isn't going to work with an RT1500. The 1500 attaches to the die.

There are a couple of Dillon 223 trim dies on the Evil Bay.

I just ordered and got a Worlds Finest Trimmer. A bit of a pain for me to get set up but works quite well once done.

For bulk 223 trimming I use the worlds cheapest trimmer. It does a good job and the price is right.

While I do not generally favor “one tool, one cartridge very much I think in an instance like .223 it makes a lot of sense!

I’ve tried most of the trimmers that are available for .223 except the Giraud. The WFT is probably the easiest to use. The WFT2 wasn’t introduced until shortly after I got mine. Figures. Had the WFT2 been available I would have gone with it over the original. The Possum Hollow isn’t bad. The Lee is good but cumbersome for large batches as are the lathe style trimmers. I ended up getting a Dillon Rapid Trim 1200 and set up a separate toolhead for trimming. Position 1 sizes the case. The trimmer is at position 3. Position 5 has another sizing die that’s adjusted to only run the ball expander in and out because the Dillon trimmer die leaves the neck undersized.

I've had really good luck using the New Lyman hand Trimmer in my cordless drill.
You can using in a recliner while watching old Westerns too.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. I have the Lee quick trim dies and power adaptor plus a Dillon 550. I am concerned that the brass shavings will jam up the press after so long. I been stuck using my single stage and a drill but would like to speed it up. I will say I bought the world cheapest trimmer and it exactly as described, its in the trash now.

I have a Giraud tri-way for 223 and 308, trims, chamfers, and de-burs, excellent results and fast, comes pre-set from factory, and is easy to adjust. Well worth the $$$ to me.
