She was able to see the new oncologist today (yesterday actually since I am writing this at 1 AM the next day) and he believes from the masses that the cancer has indeed returned. Being that we are on zero income, and wanting to save us both the pain and expense of yet another biopsy and emergency blood-work he has elected to instead return her to the medications that she was on before, and his office is working with Johnson & Johnson to get her the medication at no cost again as her previous oncologist was able to do. Blood-work has been ordered, but results will be through a lab that will cost MUCH less and return them in 1-2 weeks instead of a 2 hour turn around (he is also a hematologist and has an in-house blood lab, but the cost of it is above and beyond insane if you don't have insurance). She also has a scheduled CT scan for next week already (at more than a grand, but which is still far better than most of the other area doctors costs). I am just relieved that the process is started finally, and so far he isn't giving her the long face.
Thank you all so much for the help, prayers, thoughts, words, and every kind of positivity. We both appreciate it very much, particularly since I tend to be a wreck when in situations where I can't do anything to help her. I will keep updates coming as we know them.
God Bless!
Richard
